Oahu’s Lei Day Celebration (May 1) at the beautiful Kapiolani Park, features lei making competitions and live music. Throughout the spring months, Mele Mei celebrates Hawaii’s music, hula and culture with some of Hawaii’s best artists—from ukulele to steel guitar, traditional Hawaiian music to slack key, island reggae to rock, and everything in-between. The King Kamehameha Floral Parade in June, features brightly decorated floats and traditional pau riders (female riders in ornate dresses and lei) on horseback, representing the Hawaiian royal court.
